BetterNote Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 28, 2026

BetterNote does not collect, store or share any of your personal data.

Your notes

Your notes, notebooks, tags and attachments are stored on your device. If you’re signed in to iCloud, they’re also stored in your own private iCloud database through Apple’s CloudKit service. The developer can’t access that data. Note text is end-to-end encrypted by iCloud. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy.

Shared notebooks

When you share a notebook, the people you invite can see the notes in it, through iCloud. You can stop sharing, or remove a participant, at any time.

Photos and files

BetterNote reads a photo or file only when you choose to attach it to a note. Text in images and PDFs is recognized on your device, and nothing is uploaded for that.

No tracking

BetterNote has no accounts, advertising, analytics, crash-reporting SDKs or servers of its own, and it does not track you.

Deleting your data

Delete notes or notebooks in the app, or delete the app. To remove the iCloud copy, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage > BetterNote > Delete Data.
